Ultimate Goal for Student Learning: "It is important to preserve earth’s natural environment”.
Scientific inquiry is recommended by the National Science Teachers Association for grades K-16. This 5th grade project-centered experience includes an essential question about the importance of sustaining natural environments. Through this project students gain an understanding of ecosystems through research, develop an analytical response to the essential question, defend their response, use digital cameras, microphones, Nova portable computers, Powerpoint, Word, and Photostory - all through a project Webquest. The project promotes active participation, self-motivation, project ownership, persuasive writing, and an understanding of the nature of scientific knowledge through nature and technology. The links to the right have been provided to take you through the
phases of the project and provide student examples of each stage.
